Alex Phillips

 

 Operador nacido en Ontario, Canadá. Conservando la nacionalidad canadiense, desde 1931 desarrolló su carrera como operador en México, y desde 1958 en Estados Unidos. Considerado en México, junto con Gabriel Figueroa, como los maestros de su especialidad y entre los primeros del mundo por su potencia plástica. Entre sus más notables trabajos se recuerdan los de "Subida Al Cielo" (1951) y "Aventuras De Robinson Crusoe" (1952), de Luis Buñuel; "La Red" (1953), de Emilio Fernández, El Indio; "Los Orgullosos" (Les Orgueilleux, 1953), de Yves Allegret; y "Tizoc" (1959), de Ismael Rodríguez.
