Essanay Film Manufacturing Company: Compañía productora fundada en 1907 por G.K. Spoor y G.M. 'Broncho Billy' Anderson y cuyo nombre significa "S and A", iniciales de sus fundadores. La Essanay es recordada por producir los primeros westerns y las primeras comedias de Charles Chaplin. En 1918, cuando se produjo el famoso fallo judicial en contra de los monopolios cinematográficos, la Essanay dejó de existir. |
